B.J. Penn OVER Kenny Florian -230
Since his last loss Kenny has 4 submissions and one TKO. The TKO was against lauson who is a natural 145 pounder. he isnt going to submit BJ and eventhough his best chance would be using his reach in the stand up - BJ is too good in the stand up and even better on the ground. Penns last 4 losses have been to much bigger men - florian isnt a much bigger person and bj is virtually unstoppable at 155. I want florian to win but im putting my lunch money on penn.
Anderson Silva OVER Forrest Griffin -350
Silva is too good. Griffin is much better than he was when he got here but nowhere near good enough to win this fight. Anderson is the most disciplined fighter in the UFC- sticks to his gameplan without worrying how boring the fans think it is. Forrest likes to put on a good show and come in striking. The early part of the first half there will be a feeling out process so this might go to the second, but when forrest thinks he feels comfortable he will attack. and regret it.
Amir Sadollah OVER Johny Hendricks -125
Most even matchup on the card. Hendricks comes in as one of the best wrestlers in the division. His striking isnt as good as Sadollah. He likes to throw the fake jabs and go in for the takedown. Sadollah trains out of team quest which is the number 1 wrestling camp in MMA. so he should be prepared to stuff takedowns and use his striking. Sadollah faces the ring rust issue because he has not been in the ring in over a year. leg infection and broken clavicle kept him out of his last 2 fights- hendricks comes in from the WEC after they cancelled their welterweight division. Sadollah has shown a very active guard which will help him if he does get taken down.
Kendall Grove OVER Ricardo Almeida +135
Kendall has only lost in the UFC by knockout. Almeida has 10 wins and none by knockout. Grove has gone back to train at home with BJ Penn since his last loss and it seems to be working. Almeida has not had a good win since 2004. Kendall Grove is one of the few tall people who know how to use his reach for a serious advantage. If almeida tried to play the ground game its going to be tough against a really long 6'6" grove whose got a decent ehough BJJ game.
Josh Neer OVER Kurt Pellegrino -220
This fight has no chance of going to the ground unless someone gets really tired and tries a lame attempt at pulling guard. In the standup Neer has the size and skill advantage. He has shown a great ability to take a hit with a strong chin. thats it. neer wins.
Shane Nelson OVER Aaron Riley
Shane Nelson is coming on the plane with BJ penn and kendall grove who train together in hawaii. Riley trains out of the world famous Jeff Gordon MMA gym in virginia. Who trains there you ask? Aaron Riley. end of list. Gordon has trainers in the facility that are 7 degree black belts in judo and BJJ. The only problem is that they dont have MMA people. Shane Nelson is less experienced but with 15 fights it wont be too great of a disadvantage. Nelson has a more comfortable stand up game and has the cardio to take it the distance like he seems to always want to do. I pick shane nelson in the most unnecessary rematch in UFC history.
TO BE CONTINUED!!!!!!!!!
