awesome

I can not believe how awesome Dream 9 was. And it was awesome because of one thing. canseco. the man comes out to a video of himself hitting a homerun and then him hitting a homerun in RBI baseball. awesome. he met his opponent for the first time the day before and told the press he was scared. his cornerman was his girlfriend - after frank trigg turned him down. he thought the fight was 3 minutes and didnt find out until less than 24 hours before that it was scheduled for 15 minutes. then he gets in the ring and runs more than he did when he stole 40 bases. landing the occasional jumping front kick to the giants knee.
besides that it was a very good show- except for they need to stop letting bob sapp fight. hes complete garbage. IM glad he lost and im even more glad who he lost to. minowa. the man has 80 fights and is like 180 pounds fighting 330 pounders.
I really was impressed by joe warren who i believe is going to be a huge name in the sport in a very short time. eventhough it was close and i can see maybe some people thinking he lost the fight- the fact that he got a decision over kid yamamoto in his second fight lets you know this kid is gonna be good.

5/26 Dream 9

Dream picks

not enough time to explain picks because lines are closing soon

HULK TOURNY
minowa over Sapp( i will never predict sapp to win a fight)
Choi over canseco ( i love the japanese for their desire to watch these things)
Sokoudjou over Nortje (nortje you funny 7 foot tall fat guy)
Mousasi over mark hunt (Mousasi deserves a shot in the UFC, the ufcs 185 pound division could really use him.)

LIGHTWEIGHT TOURNY
JZ calvacante over Kawajiri ( fight of the night, really like kawajiri but not here)
Abel Cullum over Hideo Tokoro (abel is the least visually threatening man in mma)
Yoshiro Maeda over Hiroyuki Takaya (takaye only loses when he fights a decent fighter
Bibiano Fernandes over Masakazu Imanari (bibiano best 4-2 fighter in mma)
Norifumi "KID" Yamamoto over Joe Warren (this should be quick)

Non Tourny fight
Jason "Mayhem" Miller over Ronaldo "Jacare" Souza ( this fight is the reason im waking up in 3 hours to watch this show- stupid oversees 4am fights, i hope the first 2 fights are this and JZ/Kawajiri so i could go back to bed and watch the rest later)

more may 30th

***** Nikolai Valuev vs. Ruslan Chagaev, rematch, 12 rounds, for Valuev's WBA heavyweight title
chagaev -120, valuev -110

Finally. Ive been waiting to put money on this since i watched their first fight. sure Chagaev gives about 4 feet to the russian but seriously does it matter? as long as valueve doesnt bring the same refs he brought to the holyfield fight this should be a wrap up for chagaev. -120? thats mutual fund money. Y is valuev given credit, his last decent fight was john ruiz. and i like the new ruiz. hello, my name is valuev, i am going to stand in the center and throw 12 jabs at you. i will leave my midsection more open than a walmart supercenter. he is 50 - 1. forget water torture, lets get a video with those 51 fights and loop it at prison camps everywhere. his one loss is to the uzbekistan ron jeremy himself Ruslan Chagaev. sure hes fat and short but i love him and im betting with my heart and head. I will double the money i made in the lyoto/evans fight on this fight here.

Chagaev by decision. the judges table is filled by Pierluigi Poppi, Guillermo Perez Pineda, Mikael Hook, or Ove Ovensen. bet on the over 10.5 for -400 if you want to make extra money to get the fries with your combo.

MAY 30 fights

here are some good betting fights

***** Andre Berto vs. Juan Urango, 12 rounds, for Berto's WBC welterweight title

Urango is paying +250 Berto is selling at -350

heres a fight of short stalky guys. urango is trying to prove himself in the division that berto is already respected in. bertos only loss is to ricky hatton. I really want urango to win because im not a fan of bertos style but i dont see it happening. havent seen enough of urango to convince me that hes ready for this fight. he does knockout 80% of his opponents though but considering i recognized 3 of the 24 wins im not really convinced. I want him to win but im not giving him the upset on this one.

Urango on this one.

*****Alfredo Angulo vs. Kermit Cintron, 12 rounds, WBC junior middleweight eliminator
Angulo -350, kermit +250

now these odds i just dont understand. Cintron is not a +250 to anyone not named Paul Williams or Vernon Forrest. Im going to get some money on this one before the lines drop. Vegas must know something about Angulo that I dont. His highest ranked opponent was 35th in the division and Kermit is a top 10 fighter whose only 2 losses are to antonio "plaster" margarito. My only problem with kermit is that he looks like he never looks at his opponent- hes got that looking down and away look thing going on when the fighters get close together. I thought Kermit was going too be favored here and i was shocked at +250. "el perro" angulo is a knockout guy mostly because of his woork rate than his power. Im not sold on his KO power because his KOs seem to be strings of punches put together as opposed to a one punch power KO. I might lose the farm on this one and learn something new but my boxing instincts are with the puerto rican over the mexican.
At +250 you dont have to put much, maybe your lunch money or even dinner money if you have a big date coming up so when you get paid you can splurge for the nicer bottle of wine.
If you want to hedge your bet you can find a prop bet and bet on Angulo by KO but im not insuring my bet. Im riding the +250 straight up.

First round of predictions

*****Daisuke Naito vs. Xiong Zhao Zhong, 12 rounds, for Naito's WBC flyweight title

Really? if any bookey is taking money on this fight please call me so i can put my life savings on Daisuke. Here is a fight where the WBC should be fined for allowing this fight to go on. Xiong is chinas #1 ranked flyweight. after this fight china will stop their government funded flyweight boxing gyms.

*****Denkaosan Kaowichit vs. Hiroyuki Hisataka, 12 rounds, for Kaowichit's WBA flyweight title

If Denkaosan loses this fight i will amputate my legs so i can be a flyweight and i will eventually win the belt. If you find anyone who is taking odds on this fight feel free to put your grandmas social security checks on it.

****** Anthony Mundine vs. Daniel Geale, 12 rounds, middleweights
First awesome fight i will review. Mundine is currently -350 and Geale is +250.

All of Mundines losses were in Super Middleweight championship fights. Geale is undefeated but doesnt seem to have any real fights but he has stepped up his competition and been very impressive his last 3 fights so maybe he will defend his undefeated record ifhes able to get inside on anthony mundine who likes to throw from the outside. "the man" mundine, besides having one of my favorite nicknames has decided to drop in wieght class late in his career. probably because there is no more money in his current or heavier weight classes. maybe he wants pavlik? he wont get there. I am going to go with instincts on this one and predict UPSET! at +250 the money is too good to pass up. Im gonna say risk tomorrows lunch money on this fight and you should win enough to go from wendys to olive garden. Reason is he keeps his hands low and has a cocky fighting style where Geale seems to be sticking to his fundamentals and stays well protected while looking to work his way in for body shots combine that with 34 year old having to cut extra weight and you spell upset. Its his first real test so I might learn something about him but i want olive garden. So if you are in australia buy tickets to this fight and watch your 2 best middle/super middleweights fight for the kangaroo krown.

*****Silence Mabuza vs. Yonnhy Perez, 12 rounds, IBF bantamweight eliminator
Its a bantamwieght eliminator AKA Yonnhy Perez's first loss. Silence has 2 losses: rafael marquez and rafael marquez. rafael marquez is who i consider the 6th best P4P fighter so i have no problem with his losses, maybe how he lost though. Either way Yonnhys last 3 opponents have a comined 60 losses. Silence's have 7 losses. Silence is a finisher with 75% of his fights being KOs. Dont expect that to change. I just dont think Africa could find anyone else to challenge Silence so they threw perez at him. Put your weekend spending cash on this one and you can roll into the club in the VIP and afford to stay there until your one bottle runs out. but it beats waiting in line.

FIGHT PREDICTIONS

the daily awesome is now a Sport Prediction site that will focus on Boxing and MMA. after i put all my life's savings on lyoto machida because of his extreme -200 bargain against rashad evans i figure i will now keep track of my predictions.
